SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” In simple terms, it means the process of improving your site to increase its visibility for relevant searches. The better visibility your pages have in search results, the more likely you are to garner attention and attract prospective and existing customers to your business. SEO strategy can be a never-ending and limitless game. My personal opinion is to apply the 80-20 rule - 80% of outputs result from 20% of inputs - so do the simple things and do them well.

  • If your website is new, it can take a couple of weeks to start showing up in Google Search Results Pages and should improve over time.
  • Your website has been built with SEO in mind - mobile optimisation, page speed, meta tags & descriptions, image alts, url keywords, h1 and content keywords.
  • To optimise your search terms, see this guide. I have already granted you access to Google Search Console for your website. See this quick demo for more info.

A backlink is simply a link from one website to another. Search engines like Google use backlink as a ranking signal because when one website links to another, it means they believe the content is noteworthy. High-quality backlinks can help to increase a site’s ranking position and visibility in search engine results (SEO).

  • Put your website link on all relevant online profiles - LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter,etc.
  • Reach out to relevant businesses / partners / industry leaders who might be willing to link to your website.
  • One way to do this is to offer write a guest article on their website in your area of expertise and then link back to your website in the article / author intro.

PPC or SEA (Search Engine Advertising)

PPC, which stands for pay-per-click, is an online advertising model where businesses run ads on platforms such as Google, Facebook, Instagram,etc and pay a fee every time someone clicks on it. The advantages of PPC are:

  • Target specific audiences (location, age, interests);
  • Only pay for clicks that take visitors to your website;
  • Start receiving clicks very quickly - i.e. new customers;
  • Track conversions so you can see if is working and bringing in more money than it costs.
